Yesterday, I posted information and photos of the new Porsche 918 Prototype (you can read that post here). When the Porsche 918 is available it will be the next top level non-911 Porsche supercar. The car will follow the footsteps of the Porsche 928, Porsche 959 and the Porsche Carrera GT.
Because of this upcoming supercar, I thought I would post a video of the last non-911 Porsche supercar, the Porsche Carrera GT. The Porsche Carrera GT was an incredible car in its day and is still an incredible car. It still is very fast (0-60 MPH in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 205 MPH) and it manages to get the driver involved in driving in a way that you loose in many modern supercars. I have seen a few Porsche Carrera GTs (one just driving down the street and a few at car shows) and the look of the car and craftsmanship is at a different level compared to most high performance cars.
The below video features U.K. Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson reviewing the car. Clarkson makes no bones about it that he usually is not a Porsche fan (he prefers Italian and British cars), but watch to see if the Porsche Carrera GT changes his view of this.
